Most of my life, I used to get to December and draw a blank… As a survivor of childhood trauma and ADHD adult with addiction (in recovery), I seemed unable to retain and properly process pretty much anything. Once, I was asked if I had seen Niagara Falls while in the United States. I said no. I haven’t. Later I woke up with a jolt, because I had, in fact, been there. There are pics. My mind “forgot” Niagara f*cking Falls! No wonder it couldn’t give me one (!) happy happening from the months prior.

I had to relearn how to remember and how to make things meaning-full for myself.

Over the years, I’ve developed life documentation and evaluation strategies that positively affected my quality of life (some are here, here, and here). Rather, they made me aware of the actual quality of my life instead of the stories about what (my) life should, could, would be like if this, if that, if only…
